Description – Balto is a 8 year old super chill Husky who loves to get chest and belly rubs. He is a dream to walk on the leash (very receptive, does not pull) and is calm despite a lot of stimulus. We took him for a patio dinner in a restaurant in Downtown Jersey city and he was a perfect companion. He is housebroken and has a calm demeanor at home. Does not throw husky tantrums but doesn’t like to be startled.

Size – Large. 70 lbs

History – Balto was someone’s dog but was abandoned at the Coachella Valley Animal Pound. He had been there for months and on the “red list”, when I was able to get him out.

With other dogs – Generally friendly and playful. Presently lives with 5 other dogs. Balto is an alpha, so if the other dogs shows aggressive behavior, he will retaliate. He has been living the last few months with Rocky (next slide)

With Kids – Great with kids. Because he is super chill, he poses no threat to children. A 11 year old frequently taken him on guided walks

With Cats – unknown but expected to be aggressive

Known medical conditions – Balto has a physical deformity in his right eye and is blind in that eye.

Other notes –

  • Balto is not used to stairs and can’t climb more than a few steps. This is exacerbated by depth perception issues due to one good eye.
  • Loves to play in the yard and shows good dexterity
  • Sheds hair like there is no tomorrow.Solvable by regular grooming
