Transparency & The Foster-Based Model
Because we are a foster-based rescue, our “office” is the living rooms and backyards of our volunteers. This model allows us to be entirely transparent about the dogs in our care. We don’t just know a dog’s breed; we know their favorite sleeping spot, their quirks with the mail carrier, and how they react to a rainy day.
When you support Animaltopia, you aren’t funding a building. You are funding life-saving surgeries, transport from high-kill areas to safety, and the essential supplies that turn a foster house into a healing home.
Why We Started
Our story began with a simple observation: the traditional rescue model is often overwhelmed, and dogs—especially those who are shy, senior, or recovering—can struggle in high-stress kennel environments.
We saw a need for a more intimate, transparent approach to rescue. We wanted to create an organization where the focus isn’t on the number of kennels we can fill, but on the quality of the match between a dog and their future family. Animaltopia was born from a collective of passionate animal advocates who believed that pouring 100% of our resources directly into medical care, professional training, and high-quality nutrition for our dogs.
